Designed in partnership with EMNRD New Mexico State Parks Division, Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. - CobbFendley, Consensus Planning, Inc., and Bridgers & Paxton this project provides campers with modern restroom and shower facilities, a sheltered gathering space to escape the rain, and thoughtful improvements that enhance the campground experience.

Inspired by the surrounding landscape, the roofline echoes the silhouette of the Moreno Valley mountains, while perforated metal panels provide protection from the prevailing winds without sacrificing views of beautiful Eagle Nest Lake.

We're excited about the next milestone for San Jon Municipal Schools' new combined K-12 school - construction is set to begin, and we have updated renderings to share!

The design celebrates the community's identity while expanding opportunities for hands-on learning through dedicated agricultural education, fabrication, and culinary spaces.

We're looking forward to sharing construction progress along the way.

Exciting times as construction officially gets underway on the New Mexico Reforestation Center in Mora, New Mexico!

We recently held our first construction meeting with Franken Construction Company, with discussions focused on preparing the site near the John T. Harrington Forestry Research Center for the first two greenhouses and headhouse in this phase of the project.

Because the site is densely forested in some areas, the team carefully reviewed which trees will be preserved and which will need to be removed and salvaged for other uses onsite, balancing construction needs with thoughtful stewardship of the existing landscape.

Some days the best part of the office isn't a fun meeting or finishing a deadline, it's being greeted by these two. Leo and Todd make every workday a little better.

We had the opportunity to design several tenant spaces within Sawmill Market, helping local businesses bring their unique brands to life in New Mexico's first artisan food hall.

While some of these concepts have since evolved into new restaurants, it's rewarding to look back at the spaces and the creative process behind them!

From design to ribbon cutting. The Formative team was excited to celebrate the opening of 1st St Arts Space, designed in collaboration with Wes Lansford for the City of Albuquerque and 516 ARTS and constructed by Weil Construction.

The renovated Indoor Pavilion at the Curry County Fairgrounds is officially finished and ready to welcome the community. With a reimagined event hall, upgraded support spaces, and new opportunities to gather both inside and out, this refreshed facility provides a renewed space for community gathering. This near-complete renovation for the City of Albuquerque reimagines a former Downtown warehouse into a vibrant arts and community hub along the future Rail Trail. These construction progress photos highlight how the design blends preservation of its more recent past -including murals from its time as Warehouse 508 - with elements from the building’s earlier history as an ice storage facility. We’re excited to share more of the finished space soon.

Every project is an opportunity to do things thoughtfully, our own office space included.
