He has won numerous awards, many being Best of Shows. His work is in several church and museum permanent collections, including the Vatican.
Known as the Santero de Albuquerque, Roberto is an international award winning artist known for his museum quality and cutting edge style in Santo making, Spanish Colonial Furniture, Sculpture, and Tin Work. His Alter Screen for the victims of 9/11 was named a National Treasure for 2004, being selected as one of American’s Top 100 Treasures by Art & Antiques magazine. He was also the cover story for MEMO, an international Japanese interior design magazine for his unique style of Spanish Colonial and Southwest style furniture.
