Querque Farms
Urban Farm in Albuquerque raising goats, chickens, ducks, geese, pigs, sheep.
Hey ABQ folks, We foster on occasion for Bernalillo County Animal Care and Resource Center. I just got an email from the foster coordinator …
“To our wonderful foster community,
I want you all to know we love every animal we care for and sometimes just don’t have the capacity to care for them all. We try our best and want to be honest with you to let you know how you can help.
Since the beginning of the month, we have taken in 66 animals. That is an average of 7 animals a day. Our shelter is equipped to hold 111 healthy dogs, this includes the kennels of puppies, small breed dogs and larger breed dogs. Every single kennel that holds larger breed dogs is full and some kennels have more than one dogs due to limited space. “
Fostering is a great way to get that animal fix, without any long term commitment. The shelter will provide food and any additional necessities, it’s no cost out of pocket aside from time and space. If you’ve never considered it, they could use the help.

Goats! Up for discussion!
Good Morning!
After much debate, we have decided to significantly downsize our herd to focus on our Mini-Nubian and Angora goats, and our Rambouillet sheep.
We are going to start with doelings from unplanned breeding in 2022. We have 8 doelings, ranging from 9-16 months. Except for one "brush goat", they are either full ND, or 1/4 Nubian. All recently vaxxed and wormed. Untested, open herd.
Beautiful range of colors, mostly dappled and moonspotted. Individual pics in comments.
We also have 6 dams and 2 bucks that we will list in a separate post.

Everyone has two bins of chicks in their homeschool area right now, right? That is completely normal for late March/early April for everyone, right?
These littles arrived this morning! We will have more colored eggs by fall!

The newest babies ventured to the pool with mama today! We have been moving all clutches after hatch to a nursery pen and it has been so much better for the health and safety of the babies this year! We have another clutch getting ready to hatch and will start selling babies soon!
This is how fat and awkward 3.5 week old meat chickens (Cornish Crosses from Meyer Hatchery) are. They are already so heavy when we put them to bed.
