ABQ RIDE's 2026 Staff Bus Roadeo.

This weekend, our transit employees traded in their everyday uniforms for cowboy hats and boots at the 2026 ABQ RIDE Staff Bus Roadeo, a day dedicated to celebrating the skill, teamwork, and hard work of our drivers and mechanics.

In addition to friendly competition, this event provides an opportunity to sharpen driving skills, showcase technical expertise and recognize the people who keep our transit system moving safely every day.

To all of our Roadeo contestants and winners, thank you! Your dedication, professionalism, and hard work make a difference for our community all year long. Albuquerque, please help us give them a thanks, a thumbs-up, and a "howdy" next time you see an ABQ RIDE employee.

RideCo is the software behind our new ABQ RIDE GO! app that powers scheduling for Sun Van and ABQ RIDE Connect. Film a 60-second video sharing what you love about this technology and how it helps your daily life with these on-demand rides. Be one of the first 20 approved submissions, and you could earn a $25 e-gift card!

Submissions due by 10/1.

Here’s how to participate:

1. Record a vertical video (60 seconds or less) in MP4 or MOV format 2. Email it to [email protected] with your name, the service used, and the email address for your e-gift card before the submission deadline.

3. Receive a $25 e-gift card if your video qualifies from the RideCo team.

Video Submission Terms: By submitting your video to [email protected], you guarantee that you are 18+, that you are the sole creator of the video, and that it does not infringe on any third-party rights. You grant ABQ RIDE and RideCo a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, edit, modify, publish, and distribute your video, name, voice, and likeness in any media for marketing and promotional purposes. You understand that if your video is approved, the $25 e-gift card is the sole compensation you will receive.

Attention Riders: Detour on Routes 1, 66 & 777

Starting Monday, September 21, 2026 through late November, crews will be milling and repaving Wenonah Ave from Tramway westbound to Dorado. There will be no bus service on Wenonah. Temporary bus stops will be added on the south side of Smiths.

ABQ RIDE operates six major transit centers across the city where multiple routes connect, making transfers and travel easier. Many transit centers also offer Park & Ride access, allowing you to park your vehicle for free and continue your trip by bus to connect to major destinations across ABQ.

Attention Riders: Bus Detour at Coors & Rio Bravo.

Effective Friday, September 18, buses entering the Walmart parking lot on Coors and Rio Bravo are on a temporary detour due to construction. Route 52 will not serve the Walmart and will continue on its normal route. Routes 155 and 198 will be detoured as follows: south on Coors, east on Lamonica, south on 2nd behind Nusenda, west at the Stop sign, and north on Coors.

Uptown Connect Secures More than $30 Million in New Funding.

This week, Uptown Connect, a unique transit-centered development in the Uptown area, secured two new funding sources totaling more than $30 million.

On Tuesday, the New Mexico State Board of Finance approved $23.8 million in private activity bonds and on Wednesday, the Housing New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority Board approved $7.4 million in loans to support the project.

“Our team is passionate about this project and the connectivity to housing, jobs, and transit it will bring to the Uptown area,” said ABQ RIDE Deputy Director Bobby Sisneros. “Thank you to these funders for driving this project forward!”

Attention Riders: State Fair Parade Detour!

On Saturday, September 12, several bus routes will be detoured. Routes 66, 766, 141, 16, and 157 will be impacted from 5:30 am until 3:45 pm. Several bus detours are in place starting Thursday, September 10 through the end of State Fair, on Sunday, September 20.
