Before coming to Steelbridge, Letty was struggling with addiction in ways even some of the people closest to her didn’t know. She could still hold a job, but behind the scenes, addiction was taking her family, relationships, health, finances, and sense of self.

Then came a moment of clarity and the decision to start walking toward recovery.

Today, Letty is rebuilding what addiction tried to take from her and learning that every choice matters.

Her story is one of faith, family, accountability, and the courage to choose recovery one day at a time.

“I just knew that I didn’t want to keep living like that.”

For years, Johnny found himself in the same cycle: rebuilding his life, finding something good, and watching addiction take it away again.

Jobs. Time with his family. Time with his son. His peace.

Today, Johnny is choosing something different.

At Steelbridge, he’s finding strength in his faith, learning to “play the tape forward,” and working toward becoming the father, son, and man he knows he can be.

“The only thing that I’ve really found relief and sustaining peace in is God and Jesus Christ.”

Johnny’s story is one of recovery, family, faith, and learning to trust God even when the path forward doesn’t look the way he expected.

-A Prayer from a Steelbridge Resident

Mental health is just one part of the story.

Many of the men and women who come to Steelbridge have experienced trauma, addiction, homelessness, or years of broken relationships. That’s why our approach to recovery goes beyond sobriety. We believe lasting healing happens when the whole person is cared for.

Through our partnership with Rise Up New Mexico, residents receive professional counseling, group and individual therapy, and case management alongside Christ centered discipleship, life skills classes, biblical teaching, and a supportive community that walks with them every step of the way.

This Health Awareness Month, we’re reminded that recovery is possible when hope, healing, and the right support come together.
