Mission
The mission of the Institute is to educate independent students to become community assets and effective leaders for 21st century democracy.
Cornstalk Institute is a Youth Development organization located in the South Valley of Albuquerque. Cornstalk used science-based prevention theory to administer a home-grown leadership program called Learning to Lead (the most widely known of the CSi programs). Using a peer-mentoring model coupled with experiential education principles, Cornstalk aims to empower young people to improve their own lives.
