SOMETHING TO PONDER:
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.
These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.
Remember to spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.
Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.
Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.
Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.
Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.
And always remember, life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by those moments that take our breath away.

‘Overwhelming evidence’ supports Vitamin D’s immune function benefits There is an “indisputable relation between vitamin D and the immune system”, says a new review that shows that avoiding vitamin D deficiency has clear benefits for immune health.
Those who know me well - know that being politically correct is not my forte; however I do believe we should remember that this is "physical" distancing not "social distancing". Continue to reach out to friends and family, checking in for your peace of mind as well as theirs. We are all overwhelmed by the changes this virus has wrought but we will prevail. Meditation and/ or prayer increases immune health. I looked it up😁

In the March 2020 issue of “What Doctors Don’t Tell You” there is a short article “Keto diet is best way to combat the flu”. This makes sense why? Because the keto/ paleo/ bulletproof/ Atkins/ low carb diets limit or eliminate the amount of carbohydrates you eat, and sugar is the ultimate simple carbohydrate. It has no nutritional value, causes inflammation and depletes the body of vital nutrients. Eating simple sweets and carbohydrates probably isn’t the best way to prepare your body for an immune battle.
Believe me I am not judging or lecturing because the recent stress of dealing with a pandemic has caused me to stress/ binge eat sugar. I am not talking about eating one candy, I am talking true gluttony. In the last few days, I’ve eaten more sweets than I eat in a year. It started with a can of “potato chips” (not a few chips – an entire can and yes potato chips are simple carbohydrates), from that I graduated to “treats made with cereal and marshmallows” (you know the ones I am talking about. My husband, bless his heart, bought a case). I’ve had handfuls of dark chocolate caramels (some salted, some not), a coke float, a couple of cherry turnovers and the list goes on…. Who knew potato chips were a gateway drug?
How has that helped me deal with stress? I had a horrible tummy ache yesterday – ya think? I have a runny nose and am experiencing brain fog.
I try to support my “doctor title” by reading peer reviewed journals and scientific articles. Well guess what I read in “Scientific American” this morning… “Eating sugar may put your white blood cells into a temporary coma”. Remember that white blood cells are your immune cells and you need them to fight a virus. I am currently in a sugar coma (forgive any typos or grammar mistakes), and I could not fight off a flea at this point much less the COVID19 virus. No more sugar for me. No more sugar for me….maybe if I it repeat it enough times….it will be true.
We don’t have to give up our “comfort foods”, but we should limit sugar and simple carbohydrates. I hope you are more successful at avoiding sugar than I have been.
A full body thermogram includes the thyroid area and thermography reports often recommend thyroid testing. TSH is the Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. It is produced in the pituitary gland to control the function of your thyroid gland. Many labs use outdated reference ranges of (0.465 - 0.468) but studies have found that a TSH of 2.5 to 4.5 can contribute to possible metabolic syndrome, higher triglycerides and a higher BMI. Get advice from a functional medicine practitioner. There are several in New Mexico.
Corona virus brings thermography to the news.
There are several international airports that employ digital infrared thermal scanners to help detect viruses. The U.S. quadrupled the number of thermographic scanners in airports in early 2020. So....most of us have been the subjects of thermal imaging whether we realize it or not. This is confirmation of it's safety and value!!
