The Duke City Drive-In theater you've been patiently waiting for is going to start its life by calling itself Duke City Flicks, offering outdoor movie experiences for private and public events. Don't worry, a permanent drive-in location is still in the works as well!

I'm looking for organizations to partner with to put on mobile Drive-In events around Albuquerque this summer, especially along the route 66 corridor. Be on the lookout for those events, and send me a message if you want to help make this happen!

As the end of summer nears, make sure you get a chance to go to one of our state's two operating Drive-Ins. We have the Fort Union Drive In in Las Vegas and the Fiesta Drive-in Theatre in Carlsbad.

What part of town do you live in? How far would you be willing to drive to see a movie at a drive-in? Are there any spots around town you know of that would be good for a drive-in movie? An unused bit of land, for instance, where the owner might be willing to let it be used for a few hours for a reasonable price.

If you like seeing movies outdoors, you might like to check out "Movies on the Plaza" which is happening Fridays on Civic Plaza downtown. Tonight they'll be showing "The Goonies".
