🚨 Rescue Mission Recap 🚨

Cibola Search and Rescue, alongside multiple partner agencies, responded overnight Monday into Tuesday to a serious fall incident in the Jemez Mountains. The subject reportedly fell approximately 100 feet from a sheer cliff.

Due to the remote, highly technical terrain and the severity of the injuries, a hoist evacuation was coordinated. After many hours on scene, a New Mexico National Guard helicopter crew successfully completed the hoist operation. Ground teams provided medical aid to the subject and assisted with litter, rigging and patient transfer to ensure a safe extraction.

This multi-agency response included:
• Cibola Search and Rescue
• Albuquerque Mountain Rescue Council
• Jemez Volunteer Fire Department
• Los Alamos Search and Rescue
• Los Alamos Auxiliary Fire Brigade
• Sandoval County Fire Rescue
• Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office
• Rio Rancho Fire & Rescue
• Rio Grande Basin Technical Rescue
• NM National Guard Helicopter crew

Strong coordination across all teams was critical to the success of this operation. We wish the subject a full recovery.
