May 7th! At

I am beyond excited, and honored, to be joining the stage, once again, with my long time friend !

Last time we shared a stage was at the black cat theater back in ā€˜22! 🤯

I cannot be more proud of my friend for how they have grown not only as a musician, but as the performer I knew I saw in her when I asked her to join me for that gig.

I will be joining her for her senior recital before she goes off to student teach! I hope many of you can make it! It’s going to be something very special :)

And another one!!!

Mother’s Day Weekend, I will be performing with Gamelan Encantada once again for our first concert of the season!

May 9th we will be at Chatter SF and then we will be performing again on May 10th at Chatter ABQ 😁

You don’t wanna miss this!

Should be starting our set around 12pm so come out, rock out, and enjoy the day šŸ˜„

Day 16/100:

It’s the first day of April. Which means we’re already a quarter of the way through 2026! 🤯

While I’ve been bad about making practice vids/posts, I’m very proud of myself for committing to a practice routine since I last shared my practice logs last year. It’s really satisfying to see the hours I’ve committed to practicing my craft, and committing to all the moving parts that I have in my career right now. It’s hard work, but I’m extremely pleased with the progress I’ve made towards those goals in the past year :’)

I cannot wait to share with you the projects I’ve been managing the past year. And to share some exciting news that is a result of all this grinding. Or, as I like to put it, planting a forest 🌳

Day 15/100:

Live reaction of me finally getting my hands on the final draft of a collaboration that’s been in the works for a while 🤘

Also me getting confused by the new additions that I haven’t heard until this practice session and then adjusting to fit the piece more 🫠

Happy

Haven’t done marching band since I was 21 years old. Which means I haven’t done it in 10 years! 🤯

But I’ve done it from 14-21 years old. And I’ve been teaching it since I was 18 years old šŸ˜Ž

I miss it. But I’m afraid of doing any kind of parade in the New Mexico sun šŸŒžšŸ’€šŸ”„

Day 14/100:

Wasn’t really wanting to post this, since it’s just a draft for an arrangement I’m doing.

But who doesn’t like a cat video?

Day 13/100:

A lot of the times I can only write out parts or practice a set outside of quiet hours in my apartment. Sometimes I just need to relax to some music I like and just actively listen while I throw hands with a pair of stick in them. Either way, practice pad time has always been a zen time for me and often times I feel just as better as I do after a long run or an intense workout.

Here’s a snippet of me dinking around to a set I’ll be likely doing in the near future. I then later listen back for my articulation/pocket. Point is, practicing for the sake of practicing helps center myself and to decompress. It’s always been my stress reliever. The fact that I do this professionally and inspire students to have an outlet like this is what keeps me going.

Music for the sake of music resonates with my soul and I hope keep this mindset throughout my life.

Day 12/100:

Finally had time to lay out some skeleton beats for a set I’m gonna be tracking later in the fall.

Working full time. You find time to rehearse on your own before you use studio time. Saturday is always best for mornings like this!

Check the coffee spill šŸ˜† (it cooled off cause I forgot about it)

Day 11: I swear I don’t forget about this šŸ˜†

In my undergrad, I worked close to 30 hours per week, took at least 15-18 credits. And still managed to get 4/5 hours of practicing everyday. So I would find creative ways to get my hands moving. This time I just don’t have homework to do so that’s nice!

Physical wellness has always been important to me, so I decided to share how I mix my musicianship with my athleticism. Gigging season is usually spring/summer for me and I have to begin conditioning for that so I don’t pass out if I’m playing in the mountains… or in the New Mexico sun šŸŒž

Day 10/100

To be frank, I keep forgetting I’m doing this trend a lot. But I realized that since I use Timelapse videos to show that I’m maintaining good posture and alignment during a practice session made me realize that it counts!

Here’s the end of me padding out for a couple of hours. And my cool down stretches. And my cat being playful 😻

That’s a wrap for Gamelan Encantata’s 2025 season! I’m so blessed to play with these wonderful people. We grew so much an ensemble this year, I cannot wait to see what 2026 brings us 😊
