Novel Point Coffee

Has anyone else noticed the vibe shift of the world these days? We’ve been trying to ignore it, but there comes a time when we have to address the elephant in the room. There’s no easy way to say this. Our team has spent a long time mulling over the right decision.

Novel Point Coffee – as you know it – is closing daily cafe operations. Due to rising costs and the average person’s hesitancy to spend on things not considered “essential” in life (coffee is a luxury after all), we are choosing to take some time to reconsider our own priorities as a cafe. The following we know to be true:

Coffee is important to us. The comfort that it brings, the passion that it inspires, and the therapy that it provides will always be our joy in life and our hope to share with others.

People are important to us. We want to provide the best hospitality to a world that deserves kindness, and we hope to champion a space that is loving and accepting to all & is involved in its community.

Albuquerque is important to us. We love our city and want the best for its future. For a coffee business, this involves continuing to make great coffee accessible and providing unique experiences that allow people to try coffee in new ways, or for the first time.

That being said, we are not done with Albuquerque’s coffee scene. We have big plans for the future to share great cups of coffee with you. We hope to use this time to focus on new and upcoming projects that will accomplish this task. Give us time to prepare, and we know you won’t be disappointed.

We want to thank FUSION and The Cell for sharing their space with us for the last 2.5 years! We also thank YOU for being our regulars and friends who have tried and hopefully loved what we do and how we do it.

We hope to see you soon! Until then, please drink some great coffee and support your favorite local coffee shops! Maybe you will see us at one of those places as well.

Our last day open will be Saturday, July 19th, 2025. Come by and see us one last time on 1st Street.

Hot coffee summer 🥵

The wait is over - our summer seasonals are here! Starting off with the Novel Delight (summer edition) - the signature drink that bears our name takes on a new recipe this Summer in our ever-evolving cappuccino that celebrates New Mexico’s seasonality! Enjoy a 6oz cappuccino served on ice & paired with a watermelon simple syrup along with lime juice, pink salt & topped with a touch of tonic water. We garnish this cap for here with a simple tajin rim for the most refreshing cappuccino you’ll ever have! Next is the Banana Boat Float - a macadamia milk tea latte made with a prickly pear oolong tea and sweetened with strawberry simple syrup and muddled strawberries. We top this creamy bevvy with a banana cold foam and chocolate syrup so you can feel like you are a kid again! Or, the Pockets of Posy - a perfectly delightful double espresso latte flavored with a housemade chamomile & peach simple syrup & finished with a spritz of grapefruit essence - topped with a sundried daisy and sunflower petal dust! Best enjoyed over ice for a floral & subtly sweet, easy-breezy summer bevy! Lastly, Gemini season may be over, but enjoy our first ever seasonal drink to make a comeback! Try the Gemini - our matcha latte paired with oat milk, a housemade honeydew & aloe simple syrup & a touch of carbonated water. We top it with a sweet guava cold foam & garnish for here with an aloe leaf!
