Dawn Legacy Pointe

City Council votes tonight on the Safe Outdoor Spaces legislations! Please help make others aware that Albuquerque has never had housing or transitional living devoted or prioritizing those who experience s*x trafficking or exploitation! We are not a city with a lot of money, and we need to be pulling together to find solutions. People who experienced s*x trafficking have PTSD rates of 68%, similar to combat veterans (Ramsey et al., 1993), yet those who are unhoused are treated the same as any other unhoused person in Albuquerque. We as a community need to show leadership in creating solutions, rather than always thinking it is someone else's problem to solve, even if we must do so on a much smaller budget than other large cities.

While we would be happy just to be able to use the land right now for a "Safe Outdoor Space", we could envision our name on a building like the one in the article sometime in the future...
