Tres Hermanas Farm

Thank you so much to the best group ever from CHWC • Catholic HEART Workcamp!

These kids just met this week and have spent their time doing community service, which included two work days at the Tres Hermanas Farm from Wednesday to Thursday. With the help of these kids and their leaders, we successfully weeded and laid straw in our community garden rows, cleaned up debris around the farm, organized our row covers and tarps, made our sitting space more accessible, shared farming and environmental education, and fixed some of our raised beds. Not only were they hard workers, but they came ready to chat with big smiles on their faces.

We can now focus on more farm improvements, including refugee aid, revamping the space, and events now that so much maintence work has been done! We greatly appreciate their time and efforts.

Financial insecurity does not touch only one program, or one population. No family should have to choose between keeping the lights on and putting food on the table. No young person stepping into independence should do so without consistent access to something as fundamental as their next meal. Together, we can make sure they don’t have to.
