Meet our new Bookkeeping Assistant, Dominic Quintana! 👏

Since childhood, Dominic has been taking things apart to see if he can fix them, the perfect skill-set for someone who needs to make sure all our projects are billed correctly! This interest in figuring out how things work has also applied to his studies in electrical engineering and his love of gaming and building PCs. His favorite way to spend his free time is streaming on Twitch as an affiliate. Through this side gig he meets new people and makes some extra cash. While everyone loves it when he plays scary games—like Silent Hill 2—because they love his reactions, he also enjoys playing competitive first-person shooter games like Fortnight and Apex Legends.

Albuquerque born and raised, Dominic played trumpet in his family’s mariachi band until he realized his natural talent for dancing. Since then, he has explored different styles of dance, from Hip-hop to Latin dance, and would like to continue taking lessons.

If we lived in a world where nothing needed to be improved, Aaron Hill would be a highly esoteric history professor. In the world we live in, however, his career ambition is to empower people to create the communities they want to live in. Growing up in the rural south in small towns where poverty, housing insecurity, and a sense of powerlessness were the norm, Aaron wasn’t exposed to the possibilities of the urban form until he spent a year during high school in Taipei. Immersed in the vibrant culture and convenience of this densely-populated city, he was able to bike and ride public transit everywhere he needed to go—and add Mandarin to his quiver of languages to join Japanese. This transformative experience solidified his interest in urban planning and his desire to engage people in working toward the things they value.

Always in the pursuit of knowledge and new experiences, Aaron is currently pursuing his master’s degree in urban planning. He and his wife also run a woodworking business selling homemade home goods, ornaments, and cutting boards. In his free time (wait, what free time?!) he indulges in video-gaming, camping, hiking, and experimenting with cooking new vegetarian-friendly recipes for his wife.

🖊️💡These process sketches by Principal Landscape Architect Jeff Stuart are for a renovation project for an aging scout camp in southeastern New Mexico, located on a challenging site which partially falls within the floodway of a river.

Our scope includes theming, site design, wayfinding signage, landscape and irrigation design. We are working closely with the architect and civil engineer to place buildings that engage with the river while complying with flooding safety. Program elements include a community center building, cabins, boat storage, an aerial park, camping facilities for scouts & non-scouts, and housing & workshop facilities for a resident caretaker.

🎨💫We stopped at A Space Studio/Art/Gallery in Silver City last week to hang with artist Jean-Robert P. Béffort in his interactive gallery and event space and create our very own art-on-a-stick. We’re excited to be collaborating with Jean-Robert for a series of public art murals at key intersections of the Silver City MainStreet Project/Arts & Cultural District Great Blocks project.

The project is focused on improving pedestrian safety and ADA accessibility through infrastructure improvements such as crosswalks, additional lighting, and ramps.
