🌎 Today our students tackled some out-of-this-world math! They calculated the scale of each planet by shrinking them down so that Earth measured just 1 cm in diameter. From there, they worked out the sizes of the other planets (like Mercury at 0.38 cm) and modeled them all using playdough. 🪐 A creative and hands-on way to connect math with science!

Today in science, we put the scientific method into action and learned all about variables! 🧪 Students were challenged with the question: Can a penny hold more plain water droplets or soapy water droplets?
After forming their hypotheses, they got to experimenting — and let’s just say, the results took them by surprise!
I love kicking off the school year with this fun lab. It’s the perfect mix of curiosity, hands-on learning, and a little bit of “Whoa, I didn’t expect that!”
