UMAR
UMAR, a division of Monarch, empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across western North Carolina.
In 2023, UMAR, now a division of Monarch, joined the Monarch family of services under a common mission of caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The two organizations shared similar histories as each was established by caring, concerned community and church members, seeking to provide needed services and opportunities where few existed.
Here’s your reminder to vote for Monarch! Each daily vote is a vote toward supporting accesible care to those who need it in NC.

💚 “Feel it Fact”: Access to mental health services starts with understanding what’s available.
Many people qualify for support they don’t even know exists. The 1915(i) Medicaid option can provide critical services for people with behavioral health needs and intellectual or developmental disabilities — but only if they know how it works and how to apply.
Join us for our FREE Lunch & Learn Webinar on May 20 at 12 p.m. to learn how 1915(i) services can support you, your loved ones or the people you serve. Our experts will break it down and answer your questions live.
