Awareness is the first step toward healing. 💙 Childhood domestic violence can have lifelong impacts — but support, education, and understanding can help change the story.
Today is National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day, in midst of Children's Mental Health Week (May 3-9)...and May is Mental Health Awareness Month — placing mental health front and center in public discussion, along with major factors that impact it.
One such factor is growing up with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) like childhood domestic violence (CDV). According to research, that can have a profound and lifelong impact on some or all key areas of life.
But unlearning what was learned in that home can help rewrite your story. The first step is awareness, as many who experience CDV don't even realize they did.
Take this 3-minute screening to see if you grew up with CDV and get on a path to good mental health. https://bit.ly/42iaalh
