Drop-off of items for the annual Community Yard Sale for Jackson Street Youth Services is 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Kenagy Family Farm, 1650 N.E. North Nebergall Loop in North Albany. The yard sale is set for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday

Today was Flag Day, and it marked the anniversary of the first "No Kings" protest rallies around the country a year ago. A number of people observed the anniversary on this hot afternoon with a two-hour protest along the shady side of Ellsworth Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues in downtown Albany. Mid-Willamette Valley for the People, which coordinated the event, issued this statement before the rally: "We are gathering to stand together, make some noise, and remind everyone that the next 250 years of this country belong to the people."
Nearly 100 people turned today — Flag Day — for a protest in Lebanon’s Academy Square observing the anniversary of the first “No Kings” rally a year ago. East Linn Indivisible asked people to bring flags and they did. In an email message, the group stated, “Let’s take that symbol back, as an emblem of liberty, equality antd community instead of war, greed and injustice.”
