Downtown Albany corner building with large beautiful old windows that were falling apart much more than the usual. I'm taking the opportunity to get better at replacement sash members and patches. Today, a new meeting rail fashioned from the top rail of an old salvaged sash. 🪟

My commute passes a Phillips, a Curtis Lumber, and this store. ACE has better selection, quality, and prices. Their house brand blue tape and 60-grit sandpaper are staples for us.

Ever since I first looked at these sash in their Catskills windows, I've been itching to get them rehydrated. Right side is old finish scraped off to bare wood, left side is coated with tung oil/wood preservative. 🤩

We make storm windows now!! I'm so excited! And is an awesome goofball but that's not news. ☺️ So cool watching him plan and prep these and now they exist!
