Hi Friends. Early Morning Hike from Alvarado Staging Area on the Nimitz trail. So beautiful I could cry. I’m usually a late AM early PM hiker. I prefer to lounge in bed on the weekends. However, I accepted an invite to hike at 7 AM 😆 Early morning light is beautiful.

The storms in NorCal were rough. I hope you all are personally doing OK. In our neighborhood many tall and small trees came down, which is sad to see. I hope our neighbors can plant a few to compensate.

Second Spring in CA ‘cause it rained three times this week. It’s Earth Day Weekend here. Really, it needs to be Earth Day everyday.

And I know I’m talking’ to the Earth lovers.

Our CA drought is quite severe. Not only are we short on water, but our trees are weak, sickly and vulnerable to disease. So I’m happy and sad when I get into nature these days. The pure enjoyment is scarce for me now.

Am I hopeful we can turn our climate crisis around? I think we can lessen it. And I do see positive movement. My big thought is: it really isn’t about converting your car to EV and getting rid of plastic in your household. Those things are good, yes! But really, we need to focus on the BIG, HUGE, GINORMOUS changes to mitigate climate change. We need car makers to make affordable EV vehicles, we need a charging station infrastructure, and more and better public transportation. And stuff like that. We need our truck fleets to go electric. This means campaigning for these changes, voting for them and utilizing them.
