Before we said goodbye to faculty for the summer, we celebrated the end of the school year and those marking milestone years! Albany Academy would not be who we are without our tremendous faculty and staff.

We also celebrated the tenure of Head of School Chris Lauricella P’20, ’22, who is stepping down after a transformative eight years at Academy. Thank you, Mr. Lauricella. We wish you well in your next chapter.

Last week, our community gathered to celebrate the accomplishments and bright futures of our newest graduates. We were honored to welcome Commencement speakers Armen Garo ‘73 and Sara Strope ‘96, whose inspiring words challenged our graduates to lead with purpose, curiosity, and courage.

As the Class of 2026 leaves Albany Academy and steps into the next chapter, we celebrate everything they have achieved, and look forward to everything still to come.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. We can’t wait to see where your journey takes you!

After 37 years, Mr. John Hofgesang, math faculty, is retiring from Albany Academy. A man who would prefer to not be in the spotlight, his parting words at Closing Ceremony included a quote from Yusuk (formerly Cat Stevens), which we share with our community as we wish John well:

“Take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything you’ve got.
For you will still be here tomorrow,
But your dreams may not.”

Thank you to former faculty and coaches who visited campus to share remarks: David Pascone, Mark Wimmer, Ken Ebert, and Dave Rider.

They may have graduated, but we're not done celebrating the Class of 2026 just yet!

Albany Academy Ambassador Gabi Balboa ’27 is back, this time highlighting May Projects and the incredible experiences our seniors pursued during their final month as Academy students.

Each May, seniors spend the entire month off campus, stepping beyond the traditional classroom to complete internships, shadow professionals, conduct research, create original projects, and explore careers they're passionate about. May Projects provide immersive, hands-on learning experiences that allow students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings while discovering new interests and opportunities.

As we continue reflecting on the accomplishments of the Class of 2026, we're proud to celebrate the curiosity, initiative, and dedication they demonstrated throughout their May Projects journey.

The Academy Fund helps make transformative opportunities like these possible. Every gift supports experiences that inspire students to learn, grow, and lead. Donate through the link in our bio!
