🙄 WHOOPS!!! 🙄

So, for date night, Courtney wasn’t sure what she wanted to eat so… to make things fun… I wrote down four different restaurants she likes and choices on a piece of paper and put them into our Buc-ee’s bag someone was kind enough to send us with some other treats… and I had Courtney take them out one by one, with the last choice being the winner.

In case you can’t read my handwriting, those little piece of paper say-

‘Sake’ for sushi

‘Lanie’s’ for burgers at the bar

‘Otis & Oliver’s’ for barbecue ribs

&

‘Chili’s’ for the “super sampler” (that’s wings, quesadillas, mozzarella sticks etc)

Well, after we got done with my little game, I called around to the winner trying to see if we could get a table tonight they told us no… It’s Father’s Day weekend.

I called the second one on the list and the only tables were available much later.

Third choice… no good.

Called ‘Dinosaur Barbecue’ in Troy and they told me they don’t take reservations on Friday, Saturday or Sunday during the summer… It’s walk-ins only and you have to roll the dice.

Saturday night on Father’s Day weekend? I’m not taking those odds 😞

In the end, we got in our pajamas; Courtney ordered GrubHub from another restaurant we love and we opened a bottle of wine at home and of course, had our beaver nuggets for dessert 🦫

Not a bad date night after all 🍽️ 💕 🍷

It’s looking like the Taylor Swift wedding is going to be in Rhode Island after all and all this Madison Square Garden New York City nonsense was nothing but I head fake.

Still no invitation, but I haven’t checked the mail yet today so 🤷

🎬🎬 You don't know his face and may not know his name, but he made you laugh many times.

James Burrows has died.

Among the TV shows he directed- Mary Tyler Moore Show, Rhoda, Laverne and Shirley, Taxi, Cheers, Friends, Frasier, Bob Newhart Show, Night Court, The Golden Girls, The Cosby Show, Will and Grace, Big Bang Theory... over 1,000 episodes of hilarious television, he helped craft.

He in fact, co-created Cheers which was a massive hit.

What's interesting is how he got his start. He was travelling the country directing plays and met a young rising star named Mary Tyler Moore. Some years later, he needed work and called Mary and said, "You probably don't remember me but..."

She did remember and told him to come to Hollywood where she got him started directing TV shows. That's a nice friend and thank goodness for Mary because we got to enjoy so much of Burrows fine work.

People who worked with him say he treated everyone he encountered with utmost respect, from the big name talent to the make-up, costume and set folks. Just a kind soul.

Can you imagine the number of stars who will come to his wake to pay their respects.

James Burrows was 85.

I don't know you Jimmy, but thanks for the laughs 😉
