Their legendary, primary lineup consisted of Tom Verlaine (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Richard Lloyd (guitar), Billy Ficca (drums), and Fred Smith (bass). "The Art of Anti-Racism is a well-conceived intervention in the role of art and art theory in contemporary political theory, with special focus on the history of African American and Africana political thought. The volume draws on a variety of invaluable perspectives across political theory, including black feminism, aesthetics, educational theory, and grassroots political action. It is an indispensable resource for established scholars and students alike." — Elvira Basevich, University of California, Davis
