What a year for Section VIII girls. First wrestling and now Flag Football. Tho tonight did not end the way the Warriors hoped it was a win in so many other ways. These young ladies are the first. The first to wear a Warriors flag football belt, the first to play the game and the first team in Wantagh Athletics history to make it to the post season. Everyone is so unbelievably proud of you, all of you. Every girl that stepped foot onto a flag football field this year helped to pave the way for young girls across Long Island. To all the coaches who worked with these young ladies, you are awesome. Congratulations to you played an awesome game. Good luck!

For those of you that don’t know, I am a teacher. I’ve been a teacher for 27 years. This video shows the part of being teacher that they don’t tell you about in college. The part where you do ridiculous things just to make “your kids” happy! I’ve pumped gas dressed as a Gatorade bottle, worn pajamas to almost all food stores and to get a hair cut, I’ve been in a dunk tank, played crab soccer in Phys ed class, and so many more things I can’t even remember. So when your colleague of 20+ years tells you you’ve been voted by “your kids” to absolutely humiliate yourself and sing on social media you do the only thing you can do. I texted and said, what do I sing? Well, I’m horrible! But kids of SSMS, this is what you asked for!
