Met with representatives from the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters Union at the State Capitol.
We talked about their legislative priorities and budget initiatives that include: strengthening prevailing wage protections, cracking down on worker misclassification and tax fraud, and supporting apprenticeship programs that build the next generation of skilled trades workers.
These priorities are about protecting standards, supporting good-paying union jobs, and making sure our workforce is strong for the projects our communities depend on every day.

Local 291 Retirees Do It AGAIN!
Local 291 Retirees donated their money and time to buy a TRUCK LOAD of clothes for the charity Things of My Very Own. Art Seacord takes the money donated by our retirees and drives two days south and drives two days back north and brings home the goods. This year, with the help of our amazing retirees and Joe Santamaria, he brought back loads of clothes for young boys and girls who have fled from abusive homes, often with just the clothes on their backs. Thanks to the generosity of our retirees many of those children will have brand new clothes of their very own. We are so very proud of our retirees. Thank you for your hard work, time and dedication to helping our community. You’re the best!
