Why is EVOC training important and a requirement for ambulances license: EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) training is critical for EMS because ambulances are heavy, high-profile vehicles navigating complex environments. This training ensures operator and public safety, minimizes costly motor vehicle accidents, and allows personnel to safely maneuver through heavy traffic to reach emergencies.

Great job Del Norte Community Ambulance, Costilla County Ambulance and Monte Vista Ambulance Service for meeting these requirements and showing your community your commitment and dedication.

Big thanks to Chief Matt Nolting from DFPC for his support and collaboration with SLV RETAC.

A collaborative effort to support our community members and region. Together we can make a difference.

National Stop the Bleed was May 21, 2026 with the intent of teaching community members how to save lives during a traumatic emergency event. The 2026 campaign was focused on Minutes Matter. SLV RETAC supports resources, and RETAC Director, Reyna Martinez-Ramirez, said that the Alamosa County Public Health Department has been amazing, taking the lead and educating County employees across all the departments. They have also been working on getting funding for the purchase of the boxes and funds to mount the boxes in the County buildings.
