Twins #9. It's definitely been a good year for twins for us. We usually average 5-6.

Who can be the first to spot the baby calf? (This is a calf from our commercial herd) I love how smart the cows are to hide their babies in good places and how smart the calves are to know they should just stay put as long as possible.

We had our 8th set of twins overnight. The cow is a pretty old girl so we are going to have to pull one of the babies off at some point but for now she gets special treatment with some good hay to help her milk better so she can keep both babies

We got another set of twins this morning. This makes number 6 for sets of twins

We just got our FIFTH set of twins today. We've had 3 sets in 4 days and the first 2 sets were about a week apart. The first two sets were a free martin/bull combo, the second two sets were bulls and this newest set is heifers! So far all the mammas wanna take care of both their babies which is great @ Alamosa, Colorado

We got our first baby of 2020 this morning! Our calving season is under way
We got all of our bulls trich and fertility tested on Monday despite the snow. All of these boys tested really well with lots of them in the 90% motility range. Give us a try and see for yourself why this breed is considered one of the most fertile!

Yesterday we got all of our yearlings PAP tested and we were pretty happy with their scores. We have some 2 year old bulls PAP tested and ready to go! They come with DNA as well as all the ranch stats so we can get a bull to you that will fit your operation perfectly!

We haven't shared anything in a while and I know this isn't directly related to the Irish Blacks but I wanted to share this picture of some of our Alfalfa that's headed to a dairy today. Due to our extremely dry climate, the alfalfa stays green in the stack as long as it is baled correctly.
