Koreeda Hirokazu's SHEEP IN THE BOX (2026) is coming to this Friday, August 7 🎬🎬🎬 TOS now! 🎟️

Two years after losing their son Kakeru, Otone and her husband Kensuke take into their lives a humanoid that looks and behaves exactly like him. Otone embraces its arrival, while Kensuke struggles to accept it. Living with him seems to restore the flow of time within the family. All the while, he begins to slip away to meet other humanoid children, unnoticed by the parents.

The idea came to Koreeda after he read about businesses in China using generative AI to bring the deceased back to life, and a Japanese TV project that recreated a late singer to perform a new song. He understood the longing of those left behind, yet found himself asking: who do the dead truly belong to? The film grew out of that question, and out of his lifelong love for Frankenstein and the story of the dead coming back to life.

Award-winning director Agnieszka Holland is embarking on her most ambitious project to date, a biopic of the iconic 20th-century Czech writer
Franz Kafka. Conceived as a kaleidoscopic mosaic, the film follows the imprint Kafka left on the world from his birth in 19th-century Prague to his
death in post-WW1 Vienna. FRANZ will give the audience a brand new perspective on the life of the man behind the literary giant. Opening 8/21 at The Nightlight Cinema

Welcome to the troop! We'll see you this Friday night, August 7, for the premiere of COOKIE QUEENS, right? Scout's honor? βœ‹πŸͺ Grab your tix now to celebrate girlhood! πŸŽŸοΈπŸ‘―β€β™€οΈ

β€œCookie Queens serves up an eminently accessible and easily meme-able serving of American-girl cuteness, featuring a diverse cast of well-chosen young women.” – Leslie Felperin, The Hollywood Reporter

Girl Scouts across the United States take on the $800 million endeavor to always be closing on cookie sales in just six weeks every year. Follow four plucky Girl Scouts (Nikki, Ara, Olive, and Shannon Elizabeth) as they doggedly pursue their dreams to become Cookie Queens. The girls use many tactics, from writing viral songs about cookies to threatening potential buyers with karate, as they prepare themselves to be future leaders of America. Their goals are as diverse as the girls themselves; some want to pay for a trip to Europe, others want to pay for summer camp. One wants to be a Supreme Court Justice. This SXSW Film & TV Festival Audience Award-winning documentary masterfully captures the tension between young girls achieving their goals and the stress that permeates this sisterhood of sales, as some parents worry about selling a mortgage payment worth of cookies in less than two months. This effervescent celebration of girlhood and goals is the perfect family-friendly documentary that will make you laugh, cry, and ask if it is, in fact, better than Cats.
