As National Recovery Month comes to a close, our support continues. 💜

Each Turning Point participant received a journal by Dr. Nicole Labor, the “Addiction Assassin,” along with personal messages of hope and encouragement from Summit County Court of Common Pleas employees, a reminder that an entire community is cheering them on.

Thank you to everyone who shared kind words. Your messages remind our participants that change is possible and no one walks this journey alone.

A big thank you to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad for welcoming our Turning Point participants aboard! It was a wonderful opportunity to experience something new and enjoy the ride together.

And a huge thank you to our peer support specialist, TC Hunt, for coordinating the trip and making it happen!

Happy National Recovery Month!

Yesterday, Judge Joy Malek Oldfield
hosted a brown bag luncheon for Summit County Court of Common Pleas employees
in celebration of National Recovery Month!

During the luncheon, employees enjoyed an exhilarating game of Kahoot, three lucky winners taking home Turning Point tumblers and a Dr. Labor book! Attendees also took time to write letters of encouragement to active participants of the Turning Point Program and hear from retired Cuyahoga County Judge Bill McGinty, who shared insights from his lifetime of work in recovery.

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate recovery, community and second chances!

All RiseHappy National Recovery Month! 💜

Today, we proudly celebrated TEN graduates whose courage, perseverance and hard work remind us that recovery is possible and lives truly can change.

We also witnessed a beautiful full-circle moment as Turning Point alumnus Kenny Lambert shared his story and had his cases officially sealed by Judge Joy Malek Oldfield!

We were honored to have graduates’ arresting officers from the Akron Police Department join the celebration, a powerful reminder of what can happen when accountability, opportunity and recovery come together.

Congratulations to our graduates and Kenny! We are incredibly proud of you all. Graduates, your Turning Point journey doesn’t end here! Stay connected by joining the Summit County Turning Point Program Alumni Group!

The Turning Point Recovery Wall is filled with inspiration for National Recovery Month! Judge Joy Malek Oldfield challenged participants to set a goal and push themselves this month. Starting GED classes, helping someone who’s struggling, getting active, and spending more time with family were just a few of their inspiring responses.

Big goals. Small steps. A whole lot of hope. That’s Turning Point!

What’s one thing YOU will challenge yourself to do this month? 👇
