Over the weekend, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Pavilion was officially opened at Summit Lake’s north shore in Akron. Cavanaugh was grateful to be part of work tied to a larger transformation, one centered on public access, outdoor gathering space, and a meaningful connection to the lake.
This is the kind of project that reminds us why the work matters.

Legacy Throwback: F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm Renovation 🌿
In 2010, Cavanaugh served as general contractor for the renovation of the F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm in Akron, a well-known Summit Metro Parks destination that continues to serve the community today.
The project included renovation of the existing 11,000 SF sub-terrain nature center, along with site development across 14 acres of park space. From paver trails and parking to overlook decks, trellis structures, and landscaping features, the work helped support education, conservation, and public access to nature.
The project also achieved LEED Platinum Certification, adding long-term value to a place built for learning and connection.
