FSAE MICHIGAN DAY 5

Well everyone, we are finally there! The end of Michigan is upon us. It was quite tumultuous, but relieving nonetheless. After completing endurance and passing post-tech yesterday, we faced some unfortunate circumstances. The E-meter in ZR26 was compromised, which meant that some data logs were missing and did not allow us to associate our times accordingly. This affected both our Efficiency and Autocross scores significantly. After doing the math, if we did receive the points, we would've gotten 8th overall out of 94 total teams. Unfortunately we didn't get the luxury of that, but we still placed 13th, which we are still incredibly proud of!!! Dynamically, we achieved a 4th-place Accel, 9th-place AutoX (before point adj), 18th-place Skidpad, and Top-10 Endurance.

The team has grown so much in just one year, going from not passing EV Active with ZR25 to now passing all of tech and completing every dynamic event with ZR26. Additionally, we're proud of a variety of other results from this year:
1. 115-lb weight reduction since ZR25.
2. First P1 in Design in team history (Formula Hybrid).
3. Fastest car in team history (2.9s 0-60).
4. Getting over 115 miles on the car before Michigan.

As you can tell, this car was amazing, and that's due to the work the team put in this year. We maintained incredible composure, discipline, and motivation through it all, which produced some damn good results.

Thank you to all of the supporters who have gotten us to this point, we could not have done this without you. We would also like to highlight The University of Akron, as the assistance our university provided allowed us to perform at the highest level for the first time in a long time.

The car we built this year was a ripper, and it's only going to go up from here with next year's car, ZR27.

FSAE MICHIGAN DAY 4

WHAT. A. DAY. Zips Racing had a monumental day by finishing up 4 technical inspections (EV Active, Tilt, Rain, & Brakes) on top of competing in three Dynamic Events (Autocross, Acceleration, & Skidpad)

While there were some stressful movements, the rewards made it all worth it. Lots of smiles and snacks were had today, and we’re already looking forward to tomorrow.

FSAE MICHIGAN DAY 3

As we get further into the week, the more challenges we must face. We started out our morning prepping our car for the Design Event and EV Active Tech. We successfully completed the Design Event, where we got to show off some of our favorite features on ZR26.

After, we went straight to EV Active Tech where we came across a few (fixable) issues and returned to the paddock to resolve them.

Our goal for tomorrow is to finish EV Active first thing in the morning, followed by Tilt, Rain, and Brakes Test. From there we will go on to compete in 3/4 Dynamic Events (Acceleration, Skidpad, & Autocross)

FSAE MICHIGAN DAYS 1 & 2

The past two days have been very busy for the team so let’s give you some updates.

On Tuesday, we were able to complete Tractive Battery Inspection and set up our paddock.

Today we began our day with SES Tech and Mechanical Tech, both of which we passed first try. We also completed Cost Event and went right back to technical inspection. Unfortunately, the line for EV Active Tech was too long and we were unable to get in today, but we were able to scale our car in preparation for Design Event tomorrow.

So far we have completed:

FORMULA HYBRID + ELECTRIC DAY 4

What a week for Zips Racing! We are proud to announce that we took home 2nd place in the EV class at Formula Hybrid + Electric🥈

This week was a true representation of our hard work paying off. We are so proud of our team and all the time and effort that they have put towards this car, this wouldn’t have been possible without them.

After review, here are our final results and placement:
- Acceleration: 2nd🥈
- Autocross: 1st🥇
- Design: 2nd🥈
- Project Management: 3rd🥉
- Endurance: 3rd🥉
- Overall EV Class: 2nd🥈
