Home Is Where the Hearth Is (Cozy) is the eleventh pattern in the Storytime Knits Collection. This design was inspired by and directly complements the children’s book, “In November” written by Cynthia Rylant and illustrated by Jill Kastner. 📚

I hope you had an opportunity to watch the videos I posted in Stories 📹 yesterday of me reading and flipping through the book. This book has the prettiest watercolor illustrations and such clear imagery, which makes you feel the coziness of each scene. In the book, we see page after page of how both people and animals settle in and prepare for the cold days of winter ahead while soaking up the coziness of the last weeks of fall.

This pattern includes instructions for a standard hot water bottle cozy AND a doll-sized one (isn’t everything doll-sized adorable?). Both feature a colorwork log cabin motif on the front in warm autumnal colors. Shown here in ‘s Good Wool yarn (and boy is it gooooood!) in Apple Cider, Hay Field, Red Prune, and Winter Grass.

Say hello to my newest design ~ PINK SKIES ~ !!!🌅

The Pink Skies shawlette was designed specifically to use a sock set (a full skein and coordinating mini skein of sock/fingering weight yarn). This past winter, I fell in love with the gorgeous colorways from Salty Blonde Fibers l and have been dreaming up various sock set designs since.

The bulk of Pink Skies is knit in super simple garter stitch in 2-Ply Sock yarn in the Jane/Mr. Bingley colorways. The stockinette sections of Soft Silky Mohair (in Poppy Rose) were added to both give the shawlette a bit more length and to include a dash of romance and dreaminess. And oh is it dreamy!

Say hello to the 🦔 ~ HEDGIE’S HAT ~ 🦔. This pattern is the ninth design in the Storytime Knits Collection 📚 and is directly inspired by children’s book “The Hat” written and illustrated by Jan Brett.

I hope you had an opportunity to watch the videos I posted in Stories yesterday of me reading and flipping through the book. This book is just the sweetest and has the most beautiful illustrations of animals and knitwear.

As you can see, the Hedgie’s Hat pattern mimics the patterns of the sock stuck on Hedgie’s quills (his hat). My Hedgie’s Hat was knit in the lovely Scout yarn from Kelbourne Woolens, a fabulous yarn company from the Philadelphia area (you know I love all things Philadelphian). Scout is a soft, heathered, dk weight wool yarn that really shows off colorwork beautifully and is incredibly comfortable to wear. Shown here in Natural and Scarlet Heather.

The Hedgie’s Hat pattern comes in 3 sizes and fits children medium through adult large.

Say hello to the 🐻 ~ SCRAPPY BEAR CLAW MITTS ~ 🐻. This pattern is the eighth design in the Storytime Knits Collection 📚and is directly inspired by children’s book “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury.

Any quilters out there? Did you spot the “Quilty” part of this design? These fingerless mitts feature the traditional bear claw quilt block through colorwork knitting.

I knew early on that I wanted this design to have stranded colorwork knitting. So I went stash diving to pick out lots of colors that reminded me of summer camp, but also were shown in the book. The Scrappy Bear Claw Mitts shown here are in a variety of colors of Seed Fi*****ng from . You won’t need more than a 20g mini skein of each color!

Shown here in 2-Ply sock yarn in the sock set in Elizabeth/Mr. Darcy 🧶 This yarn was dreeeeeeaaaaaaammmmmmyyyyyy to knit with. Can’t recommend it enough! I’m so glad I have a few more sock sets of this yarn in my stash!!

This pattern includes instructions for (2) placemats, and two different length table runners.
Shown here is the short table runner. I knit this in H**p for Knitting’s Allh**p6LUX (**p_ ) a soft dk weight h**p yarn that comes in the prettiest colors. Mine was made with Ice as the main color and Caper for the contrasting stripes. 🧶

This pattern is BEGINNER FRIENDLY. If you can cast on, knit, purl, and bind off, then you can easily make this design.

I do include a few tips for knitting with h**p in the pattern. This is my first design with h**p yarn and I learned a few tidbits that made the process smoother for me. 🛟

DART is my newest dishcloth pattern featuring a cheery three-triangle intarsia motif. 🔺🔻🔺

If you have never tried intarsia, now is the time and DART is the pattern! It's super easy to do! Dart includes a vivid chart and clear tips on how to create a smooth transition between colors.

This pattern uses small amounts of Dishie yarn, my favorite yarn for dishcloth knitting. 🧶 They have so many inviting colors to choose from on the Knit Picks website. Admittedly, I went stash diving for this design (good heavens, you should see my enormous stash of Dishie. It's shocking! 🤯 )

The Peter Rabbit Finger Puppets pattern is the fourth pattern in the Storytime Knits Collection. This design was inspired by and directly complements the children’s book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. This pattern includes directions for 4 of the characters from the book: Peter, Mrs. Rabbit, Mr. McGregor, and the White Cat.

This adorable set of characters was knitted with five different colors of Chickadee yarn, a sport weight wool yarn from Quince & Co ( ). You only need a small amount of each color. So there is ample left-over yarn from the project to make multiple sets of characters.
