'Tis the season.... for egg-laying. Painted Turtles typically lay their eggs from late spring to early summer. The mother will seek out the perfect spot with plenty of sunshine and loose soil. With a little luck, this clutch of turtle eggs will hatch in late summer/ early fall. From there, the babies will either make a mad dash for the water or overwinter in their nests. Keep your fingers crossed for a safe hatching!

This season’s Women Walking event is this Saturday!

Come celebrate the seasonal changes in the natural world! Vernal Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumnal Equinox, Winter Solstice, each brings us to a new season, a new place in our annual trip around the sun. We will gather together indoors to share some seasonal refreshments and some easy centering exercises. We will then move out to the woods and prairies for walking meditations and experiences in the natural world.

We will end our time together with light refreshments around the fire.

Huge thanks to Max-Tech, a Minnesota-based construction services company, for their ongoing support of Belwin's work. Last week, members of the Max-Tech team toured the Bison Prairie and delivered a $25,000 donation that will support healthy habitats and access to nature at Belwin.

On behalf of all the plants, animals and people who will benefit from this generous gift, thank you Max-Tech!

Thank You to Everyone Who Joined Us for Weekend at the Wetlands!

We were fortunate to enjoy beautiful weather and great company throughout the weekend.

Many of you joined us for guided nature hikes through Belwin's wetlands and woodlands. A special thank you to Lynette Anderson, Max Borge, and Emily Hayne for leading those walks and sharing their knowledge of the plants and animals that call Belwin home.
