We are proud to announce that all Advance Fire Department apparatus have successfully passed their annual pump testing! ✅

This achievement reflects our department’s commitment to maintaining reliable equipment and ensuring we are always prepared to serve our community when called upon. Regular pump testing is a critical part of keeping our apparatus in peak operating condition and verifying that each unit can perform when lives and property are on the line.

A big thank you to all of our members who work hard behind the scenes to maintain our equipment and keep our department response-ready.

Incident Report‼️

Earlier today, the Advance Fire Department responded to a report of a concrete truck entangled in power lines on Highway 25.

Upon arrival, crews assessed the scene and determined the roadway presented a significant hazard to both the driver and passing motorists. For public safety, both lanes of Highway 25 were temporarily shut down while emergency personnel secured the area.

Firefighters remained on scene until SEMO Electric arrived and safely disconnected the power lines, allowing the concrete truck to be freed from the hazard.

We would like to thank SEMO Electric, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office, and Cape County Private Ambulance for their assistance and cooperation throughout the incident. Their teamwork helped ensure the safety of everyone involved and allowed the situation to be resolved safely and efficiently.

We also appreciate the patience and understanding of the public during the temporary road closure.

Remember: If you encounter a vehicle involved with downed or low-hanging power lines, stay away from the vehicle and the wires, and immediately call 911.

Yesterday, members of Advance Fire Department spent the evening sharpening their skills through hands-on training focused on hose deployment, water supply operations, and incident command. Continuous training ensures our firefighters are prepared to respond safely and effectively when our community needs us most.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Food Giant for their support and generosity. Our members were pleasantly surprised to find encouraging messages inside each pizza box. Small gestures like these mean a lot and remind us of the strong support we have from our community.

Thank you, Food Giant, for thinking of our firefighters, and thank you to our dedicated members for their commitment to training and service.
