Several years ago we prepared a clients grandfathers barn beams for installation into his new home. We sawed off the faces, cleaned, sanded, stained and sprayed several coats of finish on them. We saved the centers not knowing what we may use them for. Well, that same client came back and wanted a 54" x 54" coffee table. I decided to use those pieces. For a couple days I thought a made a mistake as they were very damaged, powder post eaten, and split everywhere. After straight edging, domino and edge glueing, plaining, epoxy filling, sanding, more epoxy filling, adding client requested bowtie inlays, more sanding, staining and several coats of water resistive lacquer,....it might be the prettiest table we have ever done. So much character but smooth and splinter free.

We built these African Mahogany swings several months ago for a new lake home. We were finally able to install them. Pick your side, sun or shade.

Had a client that wanted wine fridges added to their dining room. There were shallow closets on each side of the fireplace. We didn't want to disturb the existing jambs and casing in this nearly 175-year-old home, but we also needed to match what was there. We worked hard to source the right material and worked with stains and finishes to get it right. I think we nailed it.

Just delivered furniture that we fabricated in the shop to a wonderful customer. Sofa Table, Console Table, Bedside Table, Fireplace Mantel, and Nightstands. We also provided material for shelves and beams for their trim carpenter. We love white oak at Sphere.

We had a client bring in slabs of black walnut he had stored for a while. He wanted a bar fabricated that would sit on the short wall around his basement stairway. So, we turned 3 pieces into 1 and sprayed several coats of water resistive lacquer to give it a durable finish. A bit heavy to carry in, but it turned out well.

Take several pieces of 100+ year old oak salvaged from Garfield School, custom fabricated and powder coated brackets, and you have the recipe for some really beautiful, solid shelves. Looking forward to photos with items displayed on them.

This is year number four of the exterior renovations at Maggard Razors on South Winter Street in Adrian. This spectacular architectural 1880's building is getting the full treatment--ornamental metal restoration, dormer restoration, slate roof, masonry repairs and on and on. Brad committed to this building when he purchased it and has treated the building right. Painting has begun so now it's really starting to shine. Along with all the other repairs Brad decided to return the front doors to the original, architecturally correct appearance. We built the doors in our shop and installed them this week. Just incredible. At some point we need to show all the work, so for now drive by and look at the progress. And, please let Brad know that this is appreciated. The City's idea of progress is tearing the buildings down. Brad has reached deep, no grants, no assistance and has done this on his own.

Exterior finishes are becoming a major challenge. We just completed a set of mahogany garage doors for a client. The doors are 4 years old and were refinished 4 time in that time span. A high-grade UV protection urethane was used and failed every time. We were contacted for an opinion and to conduct repairs. So, we are going with Teak Oil. We sanded, repaired, stained, and applied 2 coats of Teak Oil. They look fantastic and we are hoping it's the trick. The client is prepared to brush on another coat as needed, but at least the doors won't exhibit the pealing snake syndrome.

One of our clients had a special project for us. He had purchased a Lyle Gun a few years back. The gun had sat at the bottom of the lake for about 5-years after it was stolen from the previous owner. A Lyle Gun's purpose was to shoot a line through the sails of a ship in distress so a larger line could be pulled ashore, or to another ship. Our client wanted the gun cleaned up, restored, then add a carriage to it so it could be moved around easier. Well, we decided to add a touch of cool while we were at it. Mission accomplished.

Once in a while you are involved in a project that gets some attention. These pictures are some of the items during the shop process we did for the Clark's. The home was recently featured in a magazine. Please check out the article and look for our work. What a great project.
