This weekend, we spent some time with family at the Homer Cornelius Family Reunion [my great grandfather], enjoying the company of cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, siblings, and many more from my greatgrandfather's decendents. Our family reunion always reminds me just how deep my roots run here in South Georgia.
There’s something special about gathering in the same place where the generations before us lived, worked, and raised their families. Stories get retold, the kids run around the same land their grandparents, and great-grandparents once did, and you’re reminded that family and community are what truly matter.

Having deep Southern ties like this is something I’m incredibly grateful for and proud of. It’s a big part of who I am and the values I carry into both life and practicing medicine.
