We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to navigate our communities safely. Thanks to the Adel Chamber for inviting us to explore walkability in Adel!
The Adel Chamber collaborated with Dallas County Health Department to do a walkability audit of the Adel Downtown Business District. We had a variety of persons join us on this walkability audit including a person in a wheelchair, a person using a walker, a person using a stroller, and a bicyclist. The purpose of the study was to identify the successes and challenges that the City faces through infrastructure including sidewalks, crossings, and signage as well as appeal and safety. The Dallas County Health Department will be releasing a report of the findings.
