I presented a suggestion to relax the USDA regulations on using sheep for w**d control in hopyards to the National Organic Standards Board of the USDA today at their annual meeting. In Canada, New Zealand, and Europe they can run sheep in hopyards up to 2 weeks prior to harvest and sheep are a primary w**d control method. The best the USDA will allow right now is 90 days before harvest. The NOSB seemed fairly supportive of the idea. The next step is a petition to the USDA and NOP to request a rule change. I will work on that and will be looking for signatures!

An awesome hopped cider from Citizen Cider using hops from my farm (among others)! Nice to see local hops in several locally sourced ciders this year!
