Dear Friends,
More than 650 years ago today, Julian of Norwich, that great mystic and Doctor of the Church, received her 15 revelations. That God is both our Mother and our Father were among the revelations in this profound spiritual experience. Part of what it means to be a human being is that we emulate God's parental love, as we ourselves care for and foster the next generations. This innate drive in us humans is actually under assault from the distorted values being promoted in the modern world. Let's reflect deeply on this and in honor of Mother's Day, re-commit ourselves to nurturing the well-being of our human family. Join me on Sunday to explore what it means to stay human, spiritually connected and morally grounded in these challenging times. You are welcome to join us on-line or in person at the Addison Community Church. Happy Mothers' Day!
