Drinking Liberally Addison
An informal inclusive progressive gathering of like minded liberals. Promoting democracy one pint at a time. The Addison chapter meets monthly
The Addison chapter has been going strong since June 2005. It is open to all liberals for political and social discussion over your beverage of choice. Drinking Liberally is a subsidiary of Living Liberally, founded in NYC. We are not a PAC or affiliated with any political party and do not endorse candidates.

Addison residents or those that use DART to get to and from Addison—this is an important moment for our community.
This February, the Town Council has placed a DART exit measure on the ballot for May 2026. What many residents may not realize is what’s at stake: if voter turnout is low and the measure passes, DART service could end immediately—while Addison taxpayers would still be on the hook for the cost for the next three to four years. Even more concerning, cities that have exited DART have taken anywhere from 1 to 25 years to implement an On‑Demand Transit alternative. That gap in service would have real consequences for our town and the data for On-Demand Transit shows it can increase rider timeframes to get two and from by up to an hour or more. This situation should not stand.
On that same May ballot, voters will also have the opportunity to hold local leadership accountable. Two current Town Council members—Howard Freed and Darren Gardener—who voted in favor of placing this measure on the ballot are up for reelection.
If you care about protecting public transit in Addison and shaping the future of our local government, please make sure you are registered to vote for the May ballot.
And if you’d like to take action right now, I invite you to join me this Saturday as we walk the south side of Addison Circle to spread the word and encourage voter participation.
