On Tuesday, June 6, 1944, over 24,000 American and Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy to begin the liberation of Europe from the horrors of Hitler’s N**i Germany. The invasion of Normandy during World War II, D-Day, was the largest seaborne invasion in history. The allies suffered over 10,000 casualties, with 4,414 confirmed dead. Many of them were just 18 year-old boys from American farms, small town and the big cities. As we mark the 80th anniversary, we honor the valor of the Greatest Generation and the sacrifices made by those heroes for the freedoms we hold dear.
