Save all the Woolly Bears!! As I was saying Woolly bear cats have whats basically like an antifreeze in the winter that runs through there body. This keeps them alive but puts them in dormancy to be able to survive the cold! Then when Spring is here, and it warms up, they basically come back to life, form a cocoon and emerge as a Isabella Tiger Moth! Nature is WILD right?!
Last May was my first official Mother's Day and my husband, Matt, bought me a sweet Wren house!
A week after we found the perfect spot for it, we had a male find it and immediately began making it a home ❤️ In about a month he found his perfect mate and they had a couple of cute chicks. When we took the nest down in the fall to clean it out it was amazing to see all the work that went into building it. It was so amazing to watch all spring and summer and I am so looking forward to this upcoming spring already. Its a special feeling knowing that our yard is a safe space for all animals big and small 🩷

Did you know that the male Wrens are the ones who build the nest? After building they being calling for a mate. Once they find a mate, the female will then check out the nest and see if it meets her standards. Once she approves she will then take over and begin adding softer materials such as grass and feathers for a cozy spot for her eggs.

We are so excited to be attending this year's Growin' Green Market, Saturday, May 4th!! If you are in the local Chicagoland area and looking for something to do, come stop by and say 👋🏻!
There are going to be lots of great local vendors there as well as fun activities and crafts for kids, gardening books, native plants, etc! It's a great way to start the gardening season!
