Deb Wolken brought this antique quilt top to me that came from her husband's family. It consists of 3,321 hand-pieced rectangles!! After doing some research I discovered that I could quilt it on my long arm quilting machine. So I handled it with extreme care and stitched an all-over dense swirl design called Outside In using white thread. Now this antique quilt has a new life!

My dear neighbor, Elvera, had finished all but four of these pretty embroidery blocks. I finished the last four and put them into a quilt top. I then stitched a design which followed the hand-quilting markings on each block using white thread. I also stitched wishbones with yellow thread in the sashing and piano keys with green thread in the outer border.

This antique quilt came from Deb Wolken's husband's family. It appears that it had originally been tied but then had been taken apart at some point. I added new backing and batting and then stitched an all-over vintage design called Swirly Gig using a light yellow thread to give it a new life.

The Forest Acres Quilting Club recently made this Quilt of Valor which features a center panel that was given to all Quilt of Valor groups in honor of America's 250th birthday this summer. I stitched an all-over star design using my favorite gold thread to complete this patriotic quilt. We plan to award this quilt to a veteran during the 250th birthday celebration at Zion Lutheran Church on June 14th.

Of the 80 quilts made by the Forest Acres Quilting Club in their 10-year history, only two patterns have been duplicated. This Quilt of Valor is one of those patterns, a favorite because it uses only 2" x 3 1/2" rectangles and a lot of scraps from our stash. It is aptly named "Scrappy Rectangles" and was found in a big book full of scrappy quilt patterns. I stitched an all-over star design using gold thread to complete this Quilt of Valor.

The Forest Acres Quilting Club recently made use of a donation of 5" squares and 2 1/2" squares to make this Quilt of Valor. The pattern is called Super Simple Squares and was found in a Missouri Star Quilt Company Block magazine. I stitched an all-over star and swirl design called Stardust using white thread to complete this patriotic quilt.
