Getting back on track: How Wisconsin's workforce agencies are helping job seekers - Milwaukee Business Journal Since March 15, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development has received more than 700,000 unemployment benefit applications, and in that time, the state has disbursed more than $2 billion in benefit claims. Between March 15 and May 10, 2.4 million weekly claims were filed in Wisconsin.

The Adams County Job Center is available by appointment effective June 2nd. During this limited re-opening phase, please call 608-339-9559 to schedule an appointment to use the resource room. The open hours will be Tuesday and Thursday 8 am- 2 pm (closed 12-12:30) and Wednesdays 12-4 pm.

DWD is now accepting applications for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA). PUA may be available for individuals that are not otherwise eligible for regular unemployment.

Examples of this are individuals that are self-employed, individuals with limited recent work history, and other workers not covered by regular unemployment. Instructions on how to apply for PUA can be found here: https://dwd.wisconsin.gov/uiben/pua/

Secretary Frostman has signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of Labor to participate in the unemployment provisions approved in the CARES Act.

Individuals now eligible under Pandemic Unemployment Assistance should be able to submit applications the week of April 21.

For individuals already filling and receiving benefits for weekly claims, additional stimulus funds since date of eligibility should start to appear the week of April 26. For more info: https://dwd.wisconsin.gov/uiben/caresact/
