Sheriff Bowler and the staff at the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office want to inform the community of a phone scam involving our office. Individuals are contacting members within the community stating that they are officers from the Berkshire House of Corrections and that there is a warrant for their arrest. These individuals are then asking for social security numbers to verify the warrant in question.

We want to inform the community that our office has not been taking part in any calls like that listed above. Scams like these are common and the caller wants your personal information in return which if given will allow them access to multiple personal accounts and information. If you receive a call like this, please simply hang up. Please continue to stay safe!

We will be closing early today for National Night Out!

REMINDER. Tomorrow, August 3rd is National Night Out. Join us on Hoosac St between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8 p.m. for a night of community fun.

TRAFFIC NOTICE: The following streets will be closed due to this event. Hoosac St will be closed at the intersection of Hoosac @ Columbia St. Hoosac St will be closed from the intersection of Columbia St to the area of 5 Hoosac St. (Former Waverly property) Depot St will be closed North of East Maple St. PARKING for the event is located at 5 Hoosac St. (Former Waverly Property.

National Night Out 2021 will take place on Tuesday, August 3.

Come share an evening with neighborhood residents and emergency personnel and learn how to make our neighborhoods a safe and welcoming place to live. There will be group activities including kids movies, a jump house, touch a truck (Fire, EMS, Police and DPW), along with face painting, kids gift bags information and food/snacks.

North Adams: Noel Field, 6:00-8:00 pm (Transportation to Noel Field available in North Adams upon request; call nbCC at 413-663-7588)
Williamstown: The Spruces, 4:00-8:00 pm
