MONDAY MINDFULNESS: To help us start the week well, we are sharing inspiration adapted from Jennifer Grant's book "Finding Calm in Nature: A Guide for Mindful Kids."

The dandelion is one of the most resilient plants in nature. They grow fast, have deep roots, and survive harsh conditions. There is much to learn from them.

Imagine holding a dandelion, one with a full round puffball of seeds. Take a deep breath, and when you let it out, imagine that those seeds are your problems and you are blowing them far, far away. Close your eyes and repeat three times. Relax your shoulders as you continue to breathe.

Our last night in the Smokies! 🌄Tonight we discussed what we’ll take with us from this beautiful place. Answers included deeper friendships, lifelong memories, and a yearning to live in the thin places. ( More on that to come)
It was a perfect day to be half in Tennessee and half in North Carolina at the state line at Newfound Gap, tube the rapids and the serene waters of Deep Creek, and see lots of wildlife. Our favorite 🐻 interrupted the evening by setting off our neighbor’s pickup truck alarm while dropping the tailgate and making off with a loaf of bread.
Pray for safe travel back to Michigan tomorrow while reflecting on a week of awe, belonging, and the beauty of God’s creation in countless forms. 🐻❤️😘🌄

Day 5️⃣ and what a day it was! We can all say a first, fear, and/or fun was conquered or embraced. We started the day at Mouse Creek Falls where some of us took a leap into the refreshing water. We white water rafted on the Pigeon River. What a rush! We all celebrated the birthdays of Judy, Dylan, and Christopher and yes, we saw our bear friend again. We also happened upon a mama bear and her 3️⃣ cubs. One more full day in the Smokies tomorrow✌️before we head home.❤️
