Earlier this week, LSC was proud to welcome students East Central University as part of their visit to Washington, DC!

The group spent time with LSC President Ronald Flagg and other LSC staff learning more about LSC’s mission and the critical role of civil legal aid in expanding access to justice. We enjoyed hearing about the impactful work they’re doing through the Oklahoma Indian Legal Services, Inc.'s student clinic.

We were especially pleased to be joined by Christine Pappas, OILS Board member, and Jacintha Webster, faculty member and OILS attorney.

Clinic students loved sharing the message about the Legal Clinic at ECU's Tribal Summit!

This fall we welcomed Rep. Tom Cole to campus and helped explain the importance of Legal Services Corporation. LSC funds Oklahoma Indian Legal Services and our Native American Legal Clinic.

OILS had a pretty great experience at the Sovereignty Symposium this year. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland was the Honored One and gave the keynote.

Congratulations to our Native American Legal Clinic students who graduated today! Graduates are: Adrie Marr, Garrett Trett, Cati McGee, Aly Teel, and Sumi Bazgain (not pictured: Austen McLemore and Derek Odom).

Two weeks ago our Native American Legal Clinic students and Oklahoma Indian Legal Services, Inc. attorneys and staff traveled to Poteau for the last clinic of the Spring 2025 semester.

Meet our Spring 2025 Team: Twan Yellowfish (Arapaho and Comanche) is a Senior majoring in Instrumental Music - Percussion with a minor in Political Science. Twan is from Geary, Oklahoma and graduated from Tupelo High School. He is part of the ECU Wind Ensemble, Honors Program, serves as President of ECU Alpha Chi Honor Society, and is a McNair Scholar.

Last week our students traveled to McCurtain County along with Oklahoma Indian Legal Services, Inc. attorneys and staff to provide estate planning services to Choctaw citizens.
