Floral Notes

Day 7 - Final day of Floristic Dialog Sustainable European Design Masterclass and Tour! The Van Gogh Museum was an intimate window into the world of a troubled mind sharing not only art but the story of those supporting him and his works after he was gone. The Stedelijk Museum showcased a range of media and inspiration. We walked through Vondel Park to tour Menno Kroon Atelier - a premier Amsterdam flower shop. Visitors are graced with outdoor vignettes before even exploring the well curated atelier. Last semi-official stop was Bar Mokum for a final farewell. Bunches of thanks to , , and for organizing such a fantastic learning experience. I shall miss everyone and especially thank those that helped me in my quest to find matching slipper clogs in assorted sizes!

Day 6 - Part 2 The Rijksmusem and Moco Museum were today’s main destinations. Inspiration was all around. From the eyes of the blue sashed man in the banquet painting that followed you around the room to Rembrandt to miniature dollhouses to modern art featuring making his own modern art to incredible moving compositions by Six N. Five to a social statement where each individual was carefully cut out and arranged in what appears as a photograph - there was so much to take in. A walk to the Bloemen Market where flowers, shopping and experiencing fresh stroopwafels was a great finish to the day.

Wishing you all a magical Merry Christmas! My daughter-in-law sparked the creation of this chandelier design when she asked me to create something for her new creative adventure . Having a round chandelier, I wanted to extend the decor down the table. Curly willow woven together formed the support for Carolina Sapphire which was woven through it. Amaryllis were suspended upside down - their hollow stems filled with water. Harry Potter candles and fairy lights add to the magic.

BTW - these amaryllis were first hung December 16. As blooms passed their prime they were cut off.
