Pastor Jeremiah is currently reading the book titled, "Prayer Power." This book is a reflection of the life of George Muller, written by Brent Patrick McDougal.
Brent writes, someone who wants to be a master must first be an apprentice. He writes what an apprentice learns. He says, it takes a lot of time and patience to become a master.
He goes on to write a out a technique today called stone cladding. Stone cladding costs a third of the price as real stone and does not require a stonemason to install it.
The point he makes is this: a person can have the veneer of a Christian life without really having the built-to-last change of heart and lifestyle underneath.
I challenge you today to not have a shallow depth of relationship with Jesus Christ. These days we are living in are going to require the deep, rooted, settled, kind of faith.
This is a day to say the Cross before me, the world behind me, I have decided to follow Jesus. Though none go with me, still I will follow, I have decided to follow Jesus.
For a moment tonight, I want to take you to the Saturday before the Resurrection of our Lord.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
On this night, I want you for a moment to reflect on why Jesus went to the Cross. He went for our iniquities. It was because of our need. May we feel the weight of who we are without Him and what we gain with Him as our Personal Savior.
So tonight, reflect what it might have been like to live on that first Saturday. The sorrow of deep greif. Tonight is heavy, but tomorrow is lighter as we have the blessed assurance, Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Who is your shepherd? Who are you allowing to guide your path of life?
There are two paths to life. There is the wide and narrow. Matthew 7:13-14 Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
The Lord, Jesus, is the great Shepherd that leads life along the narrow way. Satan is the one who leads on the broad path to destruction.
The beauty of my question, who is your shepherd, is that you get to choose. The best part is you have freedom to choose. The other best part is that you can change your shepherd. I had the wrong shepherd for several years of my life. More specifically would be between the ages of 12-17. But June 25, 2000 I changed shepherds!!
Today, I can say like the Psalmist, The Lord is my Shepherd. I encourage you today to decide who you will allow to continue sheparding your life. Join us in the morning at 10:00am at 207 N Washington St.
Community Lighthouse Church welcomes you. This is a Body where you will find faith, hope, and love shines.
