Some people run when they feel like it. Coach Martens tracked every mile.

Year after year, mile after mile, he showed up. Not because it was easy, but because consistency mattered. The miles represent more than exercise - they represent discipline, commitment, perseverance, and a lifelong passion for movement.

The Mental Mile is our way of honoring that legacy while bringing our community together around something equally important: supporting one another and promoting mental health awareness.

For Coach Martens, running was never just about competition. 💚

It was about discipline. Clearing your mind. Pushing yourself. Staying healthy. Finding purpose. Encouraging others to keep going even when things got hard.

The Mental Mile is a chance for our community to come together in that same spirit. To support mental health awareness, encourage one another, and remind people they are never alone.

We hope you’ll join us June 20th >> https://bit.ly/49isSwU

One of the best things about Coach Martens was that he knew how to make people smile. 💚

He was competitive, passionate, encouraging, and full of energy, but he also brought joy everywhere he went. Whether it was a race, practice, or school hallway, Bill had a way of making people feel seen and lifted up.

That spirit is a big part of what The Mental Mile is all about.

Not just running or walking, but showing up for each other, supporting mental health, and building the kind of community where people know they matter.

The Mental Mile was created to honor Coach Bill Martens. 💚

Bill poured himself into this community as an athlete, coach, teacher, mentor, encourager, and friend. He believed in discipline, faith, hard work, and helping people become the best version of themselves. His impact continues to live on through the countless lives he influenced along the way.

We hope you’ll join us June 20th as we come together to remember Bill, support mental health awareness, and remind people they are never alone.
